Freezing cold over night stay with a hammock and tarp set up can be dangerous in a survival situation and that's why I love to go out in it when I have the chance. It allows me to practice all my survival skills while it's miserably cold so I can get adapted or used to it a little better. It is also good for tracking animals and some piece and quite relaxation.
In this video I set up a tarp low to my hammock to keep warm and a under quilt as well to help with cold air under my hammock, this is a must have in this type of weather with a hammock. I make a warm fire with my 4DB 1/2"x6" ferrocerium rod and Osage Orange striker (links below) this fire is so warm and it allows me to cook my bacon and melt snow for coffee. It takes a lot of wood and extra time to set this up in the cold winter but it's warm once you get it set up.
