After the Federation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE) took up the case of The Dayton Informer versus Sinclair Community College, regarding the right of students to film in open areas of Sinclair Community College, Sinclair finally admitted that Dayton Informer Editor and Publisher David Sparks and any other student has the right to practice journalism in open areas at Sinclair without the requirement of checking in with government minders at the school.
