_Echo Trail_ is a 100% free preset for Adobe After Effects. It lets you create 3D trails of copies, or "echoes", behind any moving layer. To download, go to https://CreationEffects.com, and head to the Freebies page. If you download the trail, please like or comment below.
The Echo Trail can be applied to any 2D or 3D layers, including shapes, solids, text, images, footage, or precomps. When applying to footage or precomps, you have to option to have each echo pause, or freeze, when they're made. Or, you can have have the echoes play normally, or on a "progressive delay", which results in wavy movements along the echo trail. When first formed each echo inherits the transform properties of the Leader layer. The echo trail can be customized with easy controls that allow you to create dynamic trails with a variety of creative 3D movements.
The _Echo Trail_ effect can also be used to create the popular _Freeze Frame_ effect, where still images (or paused frames) from the video float or move into the frame and sync up with the footage.
