On a visit to Icy Strait Point Alaska we took a free 4 minute ride on the "Transporter". These gondolas take you to and from Adventure Landing and Wilderness Landing. Each of these has a cruise ship dock, however in our case we were docked at Adventure Landing. If you want to do more excursions or just get a great mountain top view, then you'll want to board the Mountain Top Gondola in Wilderness Landing. That gondola, however costs a fair amount of money, although I overheard some of my fellow cruisers saying how much they loved it.
