Todd Perley | Franz Schubert—Fantasia in F Minor, D940, Op. 103 @marquisdd | Uploaded February 2015 | Updated October 2024, 21 minutes ago.
Four-hand duet that I played by recording the Secondo on one track, and playing that back while recording the Primo hands. This piece consisting of four contiguous movements was written a scant few months before Schubert's death. It is posited that he knew his time was nigh, and this piece is a musical translation of the various emotions that one experiences when nearing death.
I'm not quite sure what happened towards the end during the fugue part of the piece. A bit from the Primo section seems to have been off by one measure for a few seconds. It's tough to accompany yourself. ;-)
