Firstly, my apologies to those who came to the Cork 20 expecting my usual lunacy at each junction. I love hanging out of hedges but yesterday was a different day. We had a job to do and a plan we hoped would make it happen. Hanging out of hedges wasn’t part of that plan. Normal service will be resumed on the next one.
Secondly, my respect for marshals and time keepers on our rallies has always been high, but conditions were on another level and we as competitors thank you one and all from the bottom of our hearts for doing what you do no matter how crazy things get. You’re a breed on your own lads and lasses.
Thirdly, Munster Car Club / Cork 20 International Rally take a bow lads.
Your efforts to make this the best rally in the country are evident.
Everything is world class. From stages to service area it’s all in place. You just need a little luck and you're there
Your call to halt the rally before the last 2 stages was correct and we thank you for having the balls to run the rally and also make that call at the right time.
So we round off our competitive events in 2024 as Modified Irish Tarmac Rally champions.
My last tarmac championship and Lauren’s first.
Damian Toner fought us tooth and nail all year but found time to keep us in the fight when we needed parts in Killarney. A true sports man and great competitor.
