I had been waiting for quite a while for the Wildfire module to show up. Foxeer is known for many other FPV stuff but not for VRx modules so I was surprised to see it perform the way it did.
Make sure you leave a comment below and tell me what you think about the performance of the Wildfire compared to Rapidfire (mode 1 or 2) and the more "conventional" OwlRx!
What you see is the actual live video feed, recorded on a specific set of FPV monitors with a DSLR. These are not DVR recordings. This test setup has been tried & tested for a long time and each part has been carefully selected after a lot of trial and error. All the modules are equally spaced and the antennas are aligned to each other. The monitor settings are all the same - the OwlRx after the resistor mod and the Wildfire produce a brighter image than the other two modules.
Note: The TrueD-X module performed subpar for me on the v1.3 firmware, it has been starting with a very bright video feed and after a few seconds of flight the image becomes much dimmer.. I swapped module bays and antennas but got the exact same results. The module has barely been used. It is stored in its box in perfect condition and used only for these comparisons.
Feel free not to take into consideration its performance, at least until the next round of tests. There is now a v1.5 firmware anyway...
