Disney spent over $70 billion dollars to acquire 20th Century FOX and all its lucrative franchises. However, every FOX film that has come out since the merger has been an unmitigated FLOP! Especially Dark Phoenix, which was the studio's biggest bomb of 2019, effectively killing the X-Men franchise. The failure of the current FOX films has forced Disney to reconsider future FOX movie releases as it tries to salvage its film slate and re-purpose the FOX franchises for its upcoming streaming services.
