This is Foursquare Rum Distillery’s newest in their Exceptional Cask Selection series: Touchstone. Foursquare releases a new entry in the series a couple times in a year. Each one highlighting a unique maturation of blended rums.
Touchstone one is a blend of two different 14-year-old pot and column still blended rums. The first is aged 5 years in ex-bourbon barrels and then 9 years in ex-Cognac casks, the second is aged 12 years in ex-bourbon barrels and 2 years in ex-Camus Cognac casks. Camus. I like the sound of that.
The word Touchstone means a litmus for quality, excellence and authenticity. Let’s see if that’s true.
