What were you doing 10 years ago? I was living the dream. The Corporation of Public Broadcasting engaged GoalBusters to teach sustainable fundraising to four African-American community radio stations. It was a transformative experience for me. I learned so much from the people that I worked with. They accepted me, even though some thought I didn't belong. We worked together to encourage support of grassroots Public Radio. People who say Public Radio, Public Television and the Corporation of Public Broadcasting are no longer needed, are myopic. They do not understand what the conditions are like in Waterloo, Iowa, Muskegon Heights, Michigan, Orangeburg, South Carolina, or Winston-Salem North Carolina, or on indigenous lands and "reservations" throughout our land. Protect Public Media. For many people, it is the only resource for facts and journalism.
