The state of Oregon is rich with fossils. The coast has many fossil localitles, but few were blessed with such rich fossil beds as those found at Beverly Beach State Beach. Thousands of fossils of mollusks (clams, snails, and more!), petrified wood, and the occasional mammal fossil; erode out of the cliffs onto the beach. And it's perfectlu legal to collect them as well! What produced this amazing assemblage of fossils, and what allowed these ancienct organisms to survive as fossils? Find out on BetterGeology!
