We explore Fort Totten as one of the best preserved military posts in America. Built between 1867 to 1873, this historic fort later served as a boarding school for Indian children, a tuberculosis preventorium, and finally, a community school. Now it is a State Historic Site.
One of the officers’ quarters has been converted into an inn, and you can even spend the night in one of the ten-period rooms.
