Paper Tiger | Format a children's book for IngramSpark & KDP using Scribus (Full Livestream) | Paper Tiger at Work @PaperTigerProductions | Uploaded August 2021 | Updated October 2024, 38 minutes ago.
Book formatting is no easy task. Watch me format a children's picture book that complies with IngramSpark's file creation guide in real-time from start to finish using Scribus, an open source alternative to Adobe InDesign (livestream starts at 2:53 and you can watch the highlights here: youtu.be/Kao04Evr-Mc).

We'll chat about self-published author life and the self-publishing process along the way!

// THIS WEEK'S AGENDA
1. Book revisions (because somebody told me I have errors in my book 😭 so I should fix those)
2. Revise back matter (because my original back matter was written with zero marketing in mind, so I should probably fix that too since I'm going to be submitted revised files to KDP and IngramSpark)
3. Plan giveaway (because I screwed up my launch marketing so I kinda need to up the ante here)

The plan is to knock out one of these tasks per hour...let's see how we go!

Spoilers! It took me four hours to format the interior of my kids' picture book using Scribus, so I did not get to #2 or #3 on my agenda. Somewhere out there, a book designer is cringing at everything I'm doing on screen (if that's you, let me know in the comments what I'm getting wrong because I would love to hear from you!).
