Paper Tiger | Fixing my new author mistakes and uploading revisions to IngramSpark and KDP | Livestream Highlights @PaperTigerProductions | Uploaded August 2021 | Updated October 2024, 51 minutes ago.
Watch me fix the new author mistakes I made in the front and back matter sections of my children's picture book in Scribus, create print ready PDFs that comply with IngramSpark and KDP's guidelines, and upload the revised interior files to IngramSpark and Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP).

In this highlights video of my livestream, I cover:
- doing an analysis of comparable titles to see how they do their front and back matter (and how I screwed up the front matter and back matter for my first book by not doing this research)
- the differences in interior file requirements for IngramSpark and KDP (and whether you can/should use the same interior file for both)
- pre-flight error checks in Scribus when exporting print ready PDF files for IngramSpark and KDP (including how to avoid common IngramSpark validation errors)
- using QR codes and URL tracking services to collect data about where your traffic is coming from
- a brief discussion of the laws around giveaways

I made so many mistakes with my front matter and back matter sections of my book as a new self-published author, so it was time to fix them in this livestream.

// THIS WEEK'S AGENDA
1. Revise back matter (because my original back matter was written with zero marketing in mind, so I should probably fix that too since I'm going to be submitted revised files to KDP and IngramSpark)
2. Upload revised files to IngramSpark and KDP
3. Plan giveaway (because I screwed up my launch marketing so I kinda need to up the ante here)

The plan is to knock out one of these tasks per hour...let's see how we go!

Spoilers: Yeah, I did not make it through the full list either! Planning the giveaway is going to have to wait until next week's livestream. Head over to youtu.be/zuGyhmnL3OI and make sure you hit "Set notification" to get an alert when I go live.
