This is one of those classic video game themes that I've heard time and time again but has never gotten old! Whenever I hear the melody, I still hear the lyrics from the "Rawest Forest" video Chris Niosi posted to Newgrounds in 2007 lol. I've been wanting to cover this one for a long time. Now that I've properly played through this game thanks to the Switch remake, it's finally time! (Also, I finally understand why so many people were devastated that Geno didn't get into Smash Bros.)
I loooove the reorchestration for this in the Switch version, particularly the new 2nd half of the song. So many fun harmonies and countermelodies!
I know there is a huge lack of Mario covers on my channel, but I hope to work on some more one day. The Mario series has sooo many good OSTs, I just haven't gotten to them given my long backlog.

This song manages to be both hopeful and wistful at the same time, which is perfect for the ending. Sara Weeda’s vocals are absolutely beautiful on this track, and every time I listen to it, the emotions come rushing back to me.

This is a piano solo cover of Ma Meilleure Ennemie by Stromae & Pomme from the animated series Arcane: League of Legends. This song was featured in Season 2 Episode 7 “Pretend Like It’s the First Time”, specifically in the dance scene. Last week, I posted a version of this cover that more closely followed Mattias arrangement. For this week, I wanted to do a more rubato and dramatic version of his arrangement while also including a video of myself playing. I dont usually record myself playing, so this was a really fun project to put together. For the video, I did a bit more of an AMV style video featuring the relationships between Ekko and Jinx/Powder. The video clips are all featured from the episode and the official music video.
