This summer in the central valley has been a great one so far! I got word that there was a BNSF grain train coming through with a CP leader, a KCS, and a BNSF sticker unit 6017 so of course I had to chase it up the BNSF Bakersfield Sub from Bakersfield, to Guernsey where they would drop off their cars before heading to Calwa Yard in Fresno with only lite power. I hung out in Hanford for a bit where I saw eastbound Amtrak 712 with the new Venture set. I then got lucky and heard on the radio that the dispatcher was calling the KCSM 4884 east which meant nothing other than a KCSM leader! So, I then chased the KCSM leader back into Bakersfield. It was a great day and a successful chase of both trains! I then saw a few more trains around the Bakersfield area before ending with the westbound return trip of the Ventures.
