Inspired by The Black Cat by Edgar Allan Poe. This song especially was inspired by the nature of Pluto, the black cat. Seemingly very innocent and harmless (this is why the theme is first played on a music box) he appears to have a darker, more mysterious side to him. In the story he uses his sinister powers for revenge, though the origin of these powers is only explained in the form of hinting that he might have magical powers, or that cats in general are linked to witches.
The theme is later on heard using an instrument created specifically for this suite, using a recording of a cats meow and turning that into a synthesizer with the help of pitching. The song moves slowly from ambient to slightly dramatic. This is to reflect the change in the role of Pluto in the story. Starting out innocent and mysterious, but ultimately out for a dark revenge.

▪ 01:24 Silence before the storm. Viola plays the melody with soft and sorrowful accompaniment, reflecting the sorrow of Pluto that these kinds of reactions are necessary, and the collateral damage that will be a result of his revenge.
▪ 01:35 Added percussion, 'cat' vst backing choir and added staccato strings to make the mood more intense. This to reflect the revenge.
▪ 02:17 Outro, the main melody fades out and is ended by a note from its own theme, as the manner of revenge destroyed more than only its target.
