Seema Badar is a longtime East Bay community leader, and public servant running for the Zone 7 Water Agency Board of Directors to protect our region's water future.
For over a decade, Seema has served in leadership roles supporting schools, nonprofits, and community initiatives across the Tri-Valley. She has worked to bring people together, strengthen public accountability, and ensure resources are used responsibly to serve the community.
Seema currently serves as the Vice President of Fallon PFC as well as the Parcel Tax Oversight Committee for the Dublin Unified School District. She helps ensure public funds are spent transparently and responsibly. Previously she also served as Chair and Vice Chair of the Citizens Bond Oversight Committee. She was also a Founding Board Member for the Dublin Education Alliance. Seema has extensive experience in nonprofit development, helping organizations raise the resources they need to serve families and build stronger communities.
As a parent and community advocate, Seema understands how essential reliable, affordable water is for our homes, environment, and future generations.
Seema is running for Zone 7 to bring accountability, sustainability, and community-focused leadership to local water management.
This program was delivered at the Muslim Community Center - East Bay (MCC East Bay) in Pleasanton, California on May 22, 2026.
Why are we here?
This past Monday, three men were killed in a shooting at the Islamic Center of San Diego — the largest mosque in San Diego County, attached to a school where dozens of children were in class. Police are investigating the attack as a hate crime.
The three men killed were not strangers to one another, and they were not strangers to the hundreds of families who walk through the doors of that center every week. They were the people who made it run.
We are gathering to mourn the victims of the horrific terror attack on Muslim worshipers in San Diego. Three worshipers were gunned down on Monday, May 18, 2026.
Our response is to express our grief to this senseless act of violence and to show with love that we are stronger than hate, no matter what faith community we belong. We are opposed to hatred, intolerance, and violence in all its forms.
In this interfaith community vigil, we honor the victims from Monday's mass shooting at the Islamic Center of San Diego. We remember Amin Abdullah, Mansour Kaziha, and Nadar Awad.
We meet in solidarity and support so that we can together meet the hate that took these three lives with the love needed to extinguish it. People of faith deserve to come together safely and without fear.
We gather as one community in the MCC Prayer Hall to share prayers, reflections, and thoughts. Everyone welcome!
