Prophetic Presence and Community
🤝 Prophet Muhammad physically moved to make space for entering believers, faced people fully, held their hand until they let go, resolved their matters first, and walked at the pace of the slowest to affirm their place in the Ummah as their right.
🌊 The Prophet will wait at the Pond of Al-Kawthar for his community to join him in Paradise rather than entering alone, extending his presence beyond temporal life into the Hereafter
Prayer as Foundation
🙏 In response to the Prophet's distress, Allah prescribed glorifying Him and constant prostration, establishing that building presence with God through prayer is essential before engaging with other affairs
💬 The believer in prayer engages in intimate conversation with their Lord, not merely performing physical standing and bowing
🧘 Prayer forces stillness amidst life's challenges, separating from distractions to cultivate basirah (the vision of the heart) and find deeper meaning and wisdom
Structured Daily Practice
🌅 Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) encouraged believers to make dua for Allah to bless His nation in the early morning, stay up after Fajr until sunrise, and sit in remembrance of God to bring presence to everything they do
⚠️ Imam al-Haddad warns in the Book of Assistance that sleeping after Fajr may cause one to miss the unique rizq (sustenance) that Allah sends in the early morning
📖 Reciting the last three chapters (Surah al-Ikhlas, Surah al-Falaq, Surah al-Nas) three times each in the morning after Fajr and evening after Asr will suffice against any affliction or evil
Transformative Habitual Acts
📜 Omar ibn Said, a scholar enslaved for nearly 56 years in America, started his biography with the entirety of Surah al-Mulk, demonstrating how daily recitation of this chapter before bed can transform one's life and worldview
👼 Finishing prayer and staying seated in the same spot in a state of wudu (ritual purity) causes angels to pray for the person, saying "Ya Allah, forgive and have mercy upon them"
Clearing Mental Noise
🧠 Hafiz Afraz Khan emphasizes that the Prophet's practices inculcate the desire to sit still, remember God, and clear out mental noise, as this is what brings presence to all aspects of life
