A major food safety racket has allegedly been busted in Navi Mumbai, where expiry dates and nutritional information on food products linked to major global brands were reportedly altered.
The Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration seized goods worth nearly ₹76 lakh after a six-day investigation at a warehouse in Navi Mumbai. Officials allegedly found chemicals being used to erase original expiry dates and ingredient information, along with machines used to print and apply replacement labels.
