The FOLUR Impact Program provided technical assistance to World Bank country projects interested in FOLURization within the Global Department for Agriculture and Food and the Global Department for the Environment. Looking back at 2024, FOLUR worked to influence change in developing sustainable food production value chains, promoting land restoration through integrated landscape management (ILM), halting land degradation and deforestation, among others.

$Session 1: Restoring Asia’s landscapes: Who heals when the land heals? Landscapes are inseparable from the lives, cultures and relationships they sustain. Yet extractive practices and environmental degradation continue to fracture ecosystems and communities. In response, Indigenous peoples, youth and local communities are leading restoration grounded in care, justice and collective wellbeing. From reviving degraded lands to renewing cultural knowledge and local economies, these efforts show that healing the land also heals people. By sharing real, rooted examples from across the region, this session explores restoration as a living process. One that reconnects ecology with dignity, resilience and the possibility of thriving landscapes for present and future generations.$
