This is a part of a long journey of lava that flowed from the central highlands of Iceland and then of got overlapped by lava from the craters in the final scene, and the journey took on many forms until it ended up as "Aðaldalshraun lava field" by Húsavík village. This was supposed to be a simple task, but along this long path there are many geological formations, and the weirder they get, the more fun it is to include them. So this was my third full day of filming for this project alone. My Landcruiser was struggling with this task on summer tires that have seen better days, and better roads, so I decided to abort the mission a few km. from my destination. It was way too windy anyway to fly out to Ketildyngja volcano, which was the task, since hiking out there is not simple or easy. I do, however, have enough footage to make a decent video coverage, and it will be online shortly after my 2026 summer and autumn tours come to an end.
