Taking a trip down memory lane, and picking up one of the 2008 re-releases, I realized it was almost the exact same scale as the UMX A-10 from Horizon. horizonhobby.com/umx-a-10-bl-bnf-basic-eflu3750
With some foam surgery, a bit of sanding and a re-paint, it was transformed into the iconic 1984 rattler: imgur.com/a/Mq0Nc
The paint is Liquitex Cobalt Blue in a rattle can, and the decals are from tfkingdom.com The rest of the additions, including the turret and 3rd engine, are made out of bits of Depron and plastic sheet.
It was a fun little project, that ended up flying as well, if not a bit better than the stock A-10. Time to get working on a Conquest X-30 :)
