Ornamentations (noun): 2. That in which the process of ornamenting is embodied; the ornaments which adorn a thing collectively; ornament in general Or, in music, the grace notes that embellish a melodic line.
Update: kits are completely sold out, thank you! Booklets are available at katie-strachan.com/shop
Booklets are also available separately, as hard copies or PDF downloads. All booklets include a link to a digital supplement that covers the process of selecting and shopping for beads and crystals for the teal sparkler set I made for my team colors. Sources for materials are also included in the booklet.
General note: sparkler sticks do not require prior beading experience and are a beginner friendly project - they're both fast and easy to make.
Ann Harper 1838 by Fox & Rabbit is stitched on Legacy Linen 48 count Marchpane with:
Surfine 2079, 2152, 2199, 2307, 2664, 2674
NB: remove the 2 in front and you have the 100/3 color number
O Sweet Humility, Eliza Townsend's Work by Cross Stitch Antiques is stitched on Legacy Linen 45 count Jersey Cream with the following (not yet complete):
Soie Surfine: 2071, 2076*, 2099, 2179, 2307, 2341, 2396, 2401, 2494, 2561, 2664, 2707, 2718, creme
2706 is the only new addition, and so far has very limited use - I hope it ends up in the border, but if it doesn't, it's probably not needed in the conversion.
Victoria 1883 by Susan Standley is being stitched with called for everything, from the full kit
Victoria, Clara, and her newest release, Judith, are all available from Susan as chart only, or full kits: susanstandleystitchintime.com/product-category/first-stitches/cross-stitch
Soie de Paris, which is a six stranded spooled silk (cut a length, pull a strand, just as you would with DMC, d'Alger, or any stranded thread), is a low twist filament silk. It shares the quality of low twist with Soie d'Alger, but the longer fibers of filament silk means that it has much less abrasion when stitched.
Paris is stocked by Needle in a Haystack in Alameda, California, and Sassy Jacks Stitchery
Elizabeth Grice by Fox & Rabbit (presently exclusive to Sampler Symposium 2026, not yet in full release) is my mom's new start, and will be stitched on Legacy Linen 37 count Lady Baltimore Cake, with a green, pink, and blue dominant colorway. Details to come!
