Late at night, a license plate reader flags a stolen 2019 Toyota Tundra taken from the Just Move gym parking lot in Lakeland two days earlier. Lakeland PD spots it and tries a traffic stop — but 47-year-old Michael Ray Miller floors it, blasting past Lakeland Hills Boulevard at triple the speed limit.
The chase barrels through US-92 and nearby roads before Florida Highway Patrol takes over. Troopers De La Cruz and Chavez pursue from the ground while the Polk County Sheriff’s Office aviation unit tracks from the air. Sergeant Moore and Trooper Medina join in, coordinating a full multi-agency push to box Miller in.
Inside the truck? Meth, drug paraphernalia, and a driver with three prior suspended license offenses. Riding shotgun is Christina Clary, a passenger with meth, drug paraphernalia, a trespassing charge, and outstanding warrants for violating probation on Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer.
The pursuit ends when the Tundra loses control on Fletcher Avenue, giving Sgt. Moore the opening to hit it — flipping the truck onto its side. Both suspects are pulled out and taken to jail.
