What began as a traffic stop quickly escalated into a felony pursuit involving PIT maneuvers, a crash into a concrete barrier, multiple occupants detained at gunpoint, and narcotics allegedly found after the stop.
According to investigators, the driver initially appeared ready to pull over before suddenly accelerating onto I-275 and continuing to flee. Troopers say the Corolla kept running even after the first PIT maneuver, forcing officers to end the pursuit with a second PIT near MLK Blvd.
Police reports state that suspected narcotics were recovered during the investigation, including a white powder substance allegedly hidden inside the driver’s sock. Investigators also reported cocaine being thrown from the passenger side of the vehicle during the chase.
