Emergency officials are still adding up the damage from flooding in Kanawha County from the weekend's torrential rains.
County emergency officials are still hoping the public will file additional reports to document storm damage.
That damage was evident in eastern Kanawha County in parts of Paint, Campbells and Cabin creeks.
Parts of Slaughter Creek Road were still underwater Wednesday afternoon.
Along hard-hit Bays Drive on Campbells Creek, residents were cleaning up again after what's become a series of major floods in that area over recent years.
Resident Dave Brown said the work hasn’t gotten any easier.
"It's very aggravating and tiring,” Brown said. “They could probably dredge the creek and that would help a whole lot.”
Randy Harper, another Kanawha County flood victim counted his losses.
“I had about four feet of water in my basement,” Harper said. “I’ve lost tools. I’ve lost all kinds of things. My hot water tank, electric box, sump pump, I had to replace it already. I may lose my furnace. I don’t know.”
The force of that water still evident along Paint Creek and elsewhere.
Mudslides of various sizes were still an issue in some areas, but most all affected roadways have been opened.
While widespread, the damage was not as extensive as some past floods, but it covered a wide area including Cross Lanes, Charleston, Campbells Creek, Cabin Creek and Paint Creek.
Heavy runoff is still evident in spots, an indication of just how wet the ground still is in a large portion of the region.
