Flock Safety is rolling out new safeguards for its nationwide network of license plate readers as allegations of misuse fuel growing concerns over privacy, surveillance and oversight.

More than 120,000 Flock cameras are deployed across the country, photographing passing vehicles and recording information such as license plates, vehicle characteristics, location and time. Law enforcement agencies can search that information to help identify suspects, locate stolen vehicles and investigate crimes.
