To get the best out of 3D printing, it helps if you can design your own parts. In this tutorial series, we will learn to use a free 3D CAD program to do just that.
In this episode, we explore the concept of variables in CAD. By creating a named value outside of any sketches or features, we can then reference that value and use it to drive geometry. If the design needs changing, only a single variable needs editing rather than going through and editing each feature. Variables offer an efficient way to make your design flexible.

![Conditional PID tuning for maximum hot end stability - Is it worth it?
Check out my 2nd channel, TT Racing: https://www.youtube.com/@TTRacingYT
I personally only tune my hot end PID for a single temperature wit the part cooling fan at 100%. But perhaps a lot more accuracy and stability can be found with conditional PID tuning. In this video, I take you through what PID is, how to tune it, and how to tube it for various scenarios and apply the, in the slicer. In theory this is superior, but in practise the effort may not be worth the meagre returns. What do you think?
Thanks to Bob Sissan for the request.

![Resin 3D printing beginners step by step guide
I often hear the same statement: ‘I’m interested in resin printing, but I’m not sure of all the steps and whether it’s for me’. This video aims to respond to that situation. There are multiple ways to approach resin printing, but hopefully my methodology provides some food for thought for others setting up.
Thanks to my patrons for sharing their tips and workflow in the preparation for this video.
In regards to safety, everyone will ultimately make their own choice on the measures they adopt. My advice would be to treat resin with tremendous respect and assume the worst case scenario. Plan for the worst, hope for the best.

Some people think 3D printing is a useless technology and hobby. Quite frankly, they are just wrong. In this video, I present a range of 3D prints to convert non believers. While not every 3D print is useful, many 3D prints have a positive, meaningful impact on our daily lives. This ranges from convenience, hobbies and even life changing medical technology.
The next time someone dismisses 3D printing as a meaningless activity, send them to this video.

Fuzzy skin is seen as a novelty for 3D printing, but the aim of this video is to demonstrate that it actually offers a lot of possibilities if parameters are carefully controlled. Furthermore, with the right settings, a fuzzy skin like texture can be added to the top surfaces, adding texture on all visible surfaces.

![Input shaping without changing firmware - GH Enterprise Smart Shaper guide and test
Input shaping is a revelation in 3D printing, allowing a huge decrease in print time without a decrease in print quality. Until now it has only been available with Klipper firmware, or in a simpler version with RepRapFirmware. GH Enterprise has created a stepper motor driver with input shaping inbuilt, which means it can be used regardless of firmware or mainboard. In this video I test it out on an old 8 bit mainboard with great results, and cover limitations and other tips to get the most out of the product.
The stepper drivers were supplied free of charge by GH Enterprise for the purpose of making this video. All opinions expressed are my own. https://teachingtechyt.github.io/reviewpolicy.html

To get the best out of 3D printing, it helps if you can design your own parts. In this tutorial series, we will learn to use a free 3D CAD program to do just that.
In this episode, we model our first object: a simple tool holder for allen keys, screwdrivers, etc. The main tools we use in Onshape to achieve this are 2D sketches and extrusion. There is also a focus on construction lines, constraints, dimensioning, prototyping and exporting for printing.
