Flea beetles have become endemic here in the dry and unusually warm weather. Always the damage is on Brassica plants, not lettuce or other vegetables. And this year the covers I rely on to keep them off have not been working.
The only two remedies I know are to water more, and to set out larger plants later. The beetles become less numerous through August and in autumn.
I show you examples of the damage they cause, and how we are dealing with that.
