This setup has been very consistent for me and should be suitable for rta. Some things you see in the video are sloppy (the knuckle fight, my emulator buffering, slowly walking to the ledge) but otherwise this is how the skip should look. If this setup is performed optimally it should save 20-25 seconds.

Setup:

Damage the Iron Knuckle until a single bomb will kill it (4 stabs with gfs jumpslash pcs).

Lead the knuckle to the exit door.

Use hookshot on the Knuckle to clip out of door into the unloaded previous room.

Target the door and drop a bomb. Superslide off the bomb as the explosion kills the knuckle.

Stop the slide near the end of the knuckle's death cutscene.

Immediately after the knuckle's death cs, buffer a turn around and center camera.

Walk over to the ledge and fall/grab it.

Climb up, slash sword.

Press Z/L and A to jumpslash as your camera moves back into view of the knuckle.

Backflip immediately as the jumpslash finishes. Let go of the control stick once Link is falling.


Notes:

- The room is effectively time-stopped when Link is not looking at it (object permanence be damned). This is why you buffer the 180degree turn after the superslide -- the room needs to be in view for that exact minimum number of frames before you do the jumpslash/backflip.

- How long you hold the control stick after backflipping doesn't appear to be too picky but it's important -- if you let go of the stick immediately Link won't clear the ledge and if you hold it the entire time he'll get far enough back to freeze the room again, preventing the cs from starting.

- The most annoying thing is the knuckle's AI when trying to clip. It's easiest to clip if it leads with its vertical swing but, as you see in the video, it's still possible if you get the horizontal slashes first. I'd recommend practicing the clip if you want to implement this in a run.
