the latch portion of this skeleton key lock was sticking so fixing an older mortise lock is a must. after taking the lock out of the door one screw opens everything up. It is a pretty easy lock to work on provided nothing is broken. the door knob turns the latch that has spring inside it. where the spring rests was bent over time and the simple fix was to bend the metal tab back to 90 degrees. and locking portion of the lock that is operated with a skeleton key is separate from the door knob portion. the locking bolt is very simple and is operated with the skeleton key. if you need more information on this style of lock let me know and I will make a detailed video.
