How to Fix the Error: "The Screen Is Not Currently Set to the Recommended Resolution"
If you see the message on your desktop screen monitor:
"The screen is not currently set to the recommended resolution. Configure the PC Resolution to 1080p/60Hz. Recommended resolution. Do not display this message again."
your monitor, TV, projector, capture card, or software is detecting that Windows is not outputting a Full HD (1920 × 1080) signal at 60Hz.
Method 1: Change Resolution in Windows 11
Right-click on the desktop.
Select Display Settings.
Under Display Resolution, choose 1920 × 1080 (Recommended).
Under Advanced Display, set the Refresh Rate to 60 Hz.
Click Keep Changes.
Method 2: Change Resolution in Windows 10
Right-click the desktop.
Click Display Settings.
Scroll to Display Resolution.
Select 1920 × 1080.
Click Advanced Display Settings.
Set Refresh Rate to 60 Hz.
Apply the changes.
Method 3: Update Graphics Drivers
Incorrect display settings can occur if graphics drivers are outdated.
Intel Graphics
Open Device Manager.
Expand Display Adapters.
Right-click your Intel graphics device.
Select Update Driver.
AMD Graphics
Open AMD Adrenalin Software.
Check for driver updates.
Install any available updates.
NVIDIA Graphics
Open NVIDIA Control Panel or GeForce Experience.
Install the latest graphics driver.
Method 4: Check HDMI or DisplayPort Connections
Turn off the PC and monitor.
Disconnect and reconnect the cable.
Try a different HDMI or DisplayPort cable.
Try a different port on the monitor or graphics card.
Restart the computer.
Method 5: Verify Monitor Settings
Some monitors allow manual resolution or refresh-rate settings.
Open the monitor's on-screen menu.
Locate Display, Picture, or Input Settings.
Ensure the monitor is set to its native resolution.
Enable any Auto Adjust or Auto Configure option if available.
Method 6: Disable the Message
If your display is already working correctly and you no longer want to see the warning:
Check the box labeled "Do not display this message again".
Click OK, Apply, or Close.
If 1920 × 1080 Is Not Available
Try these fixes:
Install the correct graphics driver.
Update the monitor driver.
Use a higher-quality HDMI or DisplayPort cable.
Disconnect any adapters or converters temporarily.
Restart the PC after installing drivers.
Most systems will stop showing this error once the display is set to 1920 × 1080 resolution at 60Hz refresh rate. #pcrepair
