How to Play YouTube Music on a HomePod mini
Unlike Apple Music, YouTube Music does not have full built-in Siri support on HomePod mini, but you can still play YouTube Music through your HomePod mini using AirPlay from your iPhone or iPad.
Method 1: AirPlay YouTube Music From Your iPhone (Easiest)
Step 1: Make Sure Everything Is Connected
Your iPhone and HomePod mini must be:
On the same Wi-Fi network
Signed into the same Apple Home (if using Home app features)
Bluetooth turned on

Step 2: Open YouTube Music
Open the YouTube Music app on your iPhone.
Choose a song, album, or playlist.
Start playing the music.
Step 3: Send Audio to HomePod mini
Swipe down from the top-right corner of your iPhone to open Control Center.
Tap the AirPlay icon (triangle with circles).
Select your HomePod mini.

The music should immediately start playing through the HomePod mini.

Method 2: Use AirPlay Directly From YouTube Music

Some versions of YouTube Music show an AirPlay button:

Open YouTube Music.
Start playing a song.
Tap the Cast/AirPlay icon near the player controls.
Choose your HomePod mini.
Method 3: Use Siri (Limited)

You cannot normally say:

"Hey Siri, play my YouTube Music playlist."

Siri primarily controls music services that are supported by HomePod, such as Apple Music and some other compatible services.

Instead, you can say:

"Hey Siri, turn up the volume."

or:

"Hey Siri, pause."

while YouTube Music is already playing through AirPlay.

If HomePod mini Does Not Appear in AirPlay

Try these fixes:

Restart AirPlay:
Turn Wi-Fi off on your iPhone.
Wait 10 seconds.
Turn Wi-Fi back on.
Try AirPlay again.
Restart HomePod mini:
Open the Home app.
Press and hold HomePod mini.
Tap Reset HomePod → Restart HomePod.
Check Permissions:

On iPhone:

Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network

Make sure apps like YouTube Music are allowed. #youtubemusic
