If you have corded phone.
One day corded phone no sound
But line telephone ok, problem in corded phone unit

This sample Panasonic KX TSC7 model design 1999.
Amazon start selling 2000.
I buy this corded phone, only 2 years usage. So no sound.
15 years put into the box, like vintage phone.
April 2020, I am trying to open case this telephone.
Look one bad capacitor look bulky. Elco 6,3V 1000uf
Replace the capacitor with higher voltage 25V but the same 1000uf
And this corded phone back alive
All function work, add 3 battery AA. Sound still clear

If you have corded phone, before send to trash
Try to open case, and look inside.
May be a simple problem like this, and easy to solve the telephone no sound can work again
May be problem from bad cap. Usually old technologi, like power supply, adaptor have the same problem with bad capacitor
Simple solution, better repair compare buy a new one.
