Simple fix if your server is running but you just cant connect. The most likely problem is that you need to download the server update and replace the file. You can download it here. s3.amazonaws.com/MinecraftDownload/launcher/minecraft_server.jar
This should help you if you have a problem with a windows server too but you need to download the windows file on the same page.
