The Problem
The poor quality bearings on your vehicles wiper linkage rods wear causing the linkage arms to pop off.
The original soft plastic bush bearings on each end of the two wiper linkage push rods wear down leading to the push rods popping off of their respective ball joint. It is a very common fault on this model. Until now the only option was to buy a whole new wiper mechanism (many customers being quoted £300!) which would just fail again due to same poor-quality components.
Symptoms of the fault
The symptoms of this fault are very obvious; windscreen wipers simply not working, only one windscreen wiper working, the windscreen wiper movement is erratic or juddering with the wiper link popping off frequently. Wiper motor can be heard working but no wiper movement. Upon inspecting the linkage mechanism, you will see one or both of the linkage rods hanging off.
