Essaouira, exotic seaport, conjured between the tumultuous seas and barren desert, chromatic blend of Africa and Europe, place of a relentless wind and unforgiving seas and home to the men who plow its fertile waters. The gulls sing their chants on the wing anticipating the fruits of the fishermen who plucked their catch from the tumultuous waters of the Moroccan coast. Mariners have been sailing these waters since the phonecians nearly 3000 years ago and today they continue to plow its fertile waters.
