Finally! The long awaited debut LP by Fish Tank Revival! Well, okay, I'm not sure if it's a concrete LP, but I treat it like one! This tape gets a lot of play in my cassette deck. It's SO refreshingly DIY, as well! The J-Card is a crayon drawing, the tracklist and liner notes are on a folded piece of loose leaf. The tape is a sony-D60 with a handwritten sticker label.
The music on this tape is so surreal and dreamy! It's got a lot of soul, something unfortunately lacking in lots of DIY music these days, every song puts a smile on my face. You can really tell Luke is making this music from his heart. Song topics range from hatred of DEVO, to heartbreak, to microwaving tinfoil and everything in-between. Luke also reaches more for his Ariel Pink roots, not only polishing-up his Baby cover, but also adding a wonderful See The Girl cover! Four of its 21 tracks are from the Debut EP (Microwave, Devo Sucks, and the aforementioned Baby cover), and the other 17 are brand new and just for you!
