This is the first of a couple of Videos from Cart Marking 2026. Background: Now that Milly is part of the London Bus Museum she was invited to take part in the 2026 Cart Marking ceremony. This event is many hundreds of years old and is a vehicle licensing ceremony overseen by the Worshipful Company of Carmen in the City of London.
Traditionally, a fee of five shillings (a Crown) was paid to license a horse-drawn cart, and the Lord Mayor would physically brand a new letter onto a wooden block attached to the side of the vehicle, permitting it to trade.
