First Snow Storm Stealth Camp of this Winter Season in Caledon East

Join me on another Canadian winter stealth camping adventure as I roll into Caledon East, Ontario during the first major snowstorm of the 2025–2026 season. In this 57-minute video, I take you through the full experience—driving through icy roads, exploring small-town restaurants, finding the perfect stealth camping spot, and eating some amazing cold-weather comfort food from true local gems.
The night kicks off with dangerously low fuel, blowing snow, and slippery roads as I navigate my converted minivan camper into town. After topping up on gas, I cruise the snowy streets of Caledon East, checking out local landmarks, century homes, plazas, and food options. With temperatures dropping to –12°C with windchill, I set out to warm up with a hot meal—and discover Tom’s Family Restaurant, an iconic diner open since 1983.
Inside, I enjoy an incredible French onion soup—loaded with melted cheese, rich broth, and steaming hot onions—perfect for a freezing winter evening. After chatting with the friendly staff and learning the restaurant’s history, it’s time to scout for a stealth-safe overnight parking area. Between the post office, liquor store, and local plazas, I weigh out options to avoid snowplows, traffic, and noise.
Next, I explore the beautiful Caledon Trailway, a long straight cycling and walking trail cutting through town, and take a quick moment to drop merchandise orders at the mailbox for supporters—thank you for the continued love!
Once the sun sets, I stealth-out the van, prep the interior, set up insulation, swap batteries, and get everything winter-ready for the night ahead. But before turning in, there’s one more stop: Pizza Express and Wings, where I grab a massive deep-fried panzerotti stuffed with pepperoni, bacon, mushrooms, and gooey cheese. It’s crispy, hot, messy, and absolutely perfect for a cold Canadian night.
We end the evening with a quick visit to the Caledon East General Store, an old converted church packed with snacks, essentials, ice cream, and local charm.
