For the first time, preschool teachers will get a locally developed tool to help them identify their strengths and areas of growth. Using feedback from 125 preschools, the Early Childhood Development Agency says it will help set a common standard on what makes quality teaching. The Quality Teaching Tool is among resources to be rolled out from the end of this year. A guide to the Early Years Development Framework will also be updated to feature case studies specific to Singapore. Finally, a mentoring guide will provide structure and suggest resources to help experienced educators and centre leaders pass down their knowledge to younger teachers. Eugene Chow reports.
