NOTE - This *cannot* be done as small mario, only big mario. This doesn’t count towards any% sum of best because it is segmented and uses big mario, and a power up in not collected on the optimal any% route.
So I found out that this clip is just really easy to do RTA, can get up to 134 xpos, and gives tons of frames to spare. So yeah, this isn’t too bad to do.
In this video, I used 3 savestates for a total of 5 segments. First savestate is made when bouncing on the goombas right before the clip, second savestate is after the clip when Mario jumps to the vine, and third savestate is just before the jump into the warp zone. I was going for 2 savestates at the time, but the warp zone kept being annoying so I just made a savestate there. I could definitely do this in 2 segments (making the savestate right before the pipe entry), and maybe IL if I really did this a lot. Probably not gonna really grind this though. The reason I didn’t really pop off at all is because this really isn’t hard to do or take much time, just no one has done it yet.
