After the recent unseasonable warmth, there’ll be a big change by the weekend. A northwesterly wind is going to bring colder air southwards across the whole of the UK. At the weekend, daytime temperatures will reach around 9-14C for most places. Overnight temperatures will be around 2-6C in towns and cities, with a frost likely in rural areas. It’ll be cold enough for showers over the Scottish mountains to turn to sleet and snow.
