This is Hurricane Idalia spinning around and rapidly developing in the Gulf of Mexico. Idalia is likely to hit NW Florida on Wednesday, with sustained winds around 125mph (Cat 3). Up to 12 inches (300mm) of flooding rain could fall across parts of Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas. As well as damaging winds, coastal storm surges could reach up to 15ft (4.5 metres) in NW Florida.
