Description: Okay, this is pretty boring in many ways. Its just Conways Game of Life. I first wrote a program to compute these patterns over thirty years ago. But this one is new in one important respect: its implemented using an FFT. We can represent the summation operation as a convolution, which is easy to express using the FFT. Its really just a stepping stone to implementing SmoothLife.
