Part 1 - Prologue - Mercenaries.
For this Walkthrough I'll write down some simple help for the levels, including treasures and other things.
I will also write down some statistics for new recruits that may help you figure out who you want to use.
******NOTE:POSSIBLE MINOR SPOILERS!******
It is possible that some of the information about a character can be felt as a spoiler, such as a characters promotion.
So if you really wish to know nothing, don't read this. Although, I kinda assume you only read this
if you need help with the game or just some insight.
There's nothing to say about this level. It's a simple tutorial that you shouldn't have any chance of losing.
Just make sure you use your Vulnerary.
New Recruit - Ike, Ranger
Level 1
Base stats -
Health: 19 Speed: 7
Strength: 5 Defense: 5
Magic: 1 Resistance: 0
Skill: 6 Luck: 6
Growth -
Health: 75% Speed: 55%
Strength: 50% Defense: 40%
Magic: 20% Resistance: 40%
Skill: 50% Luck: 35%
Promotion: Lord
Promotion Growths -
Health: +4 Speed: +2
Strength: +3 Defense: +3
Magic: +2 Resistance: +2
Skill: +2 Move: +1
Promoted Stat Caps -
Health: 60 Speed: 28
Strength: 26 Defense: 24
Magic: 20 Resistance: 22
Skill: 27 Luck: 40

That's more or less what you need to know about a character. I'll give some insight, but if you want to know
EXACTLY how good someone is, you'll have to do a little math on your own.
Remember, growths aren't everything. What level they start at, and what base stats they have mean a lot as well.
Also, don't neglect other factors like Move, Element or Master skill as they mean a lot too.
Looking at these numbers, it's pretty obvious Ike is a very formidable character and should grow to be quite strong.
His growths are great and his base stats as a level 1 is pretty good.
He also has the best Master skill in the game, and in my opinion, the best Element too.
You don't have much of a choice here, as Ike is a must use anyway, but I would recommend using him regardless.
