Made this for the RIFT Colossus Contest. I wanted a 6 legged beast with glowing horns and this came out.

Here are a few relevant tips for digipainting stuff like this:
-Create different thumbnail versions. I ended up using my first idea even after making a few more different thumbnails.
-Instead of painting highlights and smudging them, I learned a new technique of putting a new layer on top then set it as a clipping mask on the character layer. Then paint with an extremely soft edge brush then erase the shadow areas. Basically, its like sculpting the details using the eraser tool. It's a faster method with similar result.
-tilted horizons look way more badass for badass stuff!
