Fire at Schenectady’s sewage facility injures 1 firefighter @wnyt

A fire at Schenectady’s sewage treatment facility was brought under control and one firefighter was hurt, according to the Schenectady Fire Department.

Fire Chief George Burns said crews responded just after 5 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 24, to a reported structure fire at the sewage treatment plant on Anthony Street. Firefighters found heavy black smoke coming from a building run by an on-site contractor for compost processing.
