On May 9, 2025, the terroristic threats case against Memphis rapper Finesse2Tymes, real name Ricky Hampton, was dismissed. The charges originated from a January altercation where Hampton allegedly threatened to shoot a woman during a disagreement involving a preteen he was mentoring. Prosecutors filed for dismissal, citing insufficient evidence to prove the allegations beyond a reasonable doubt. The judge granted the motion. Finesse2Tymes' lawyer, Carl A. Moore, stated, "My client is innocent, and today’s ruling reflects that." The dismissal clears the way for Finesse2Tymes to focus on his career without these legal constraints.
